What are positive Affirmations?

The voices inside and outside of ourselves are well practiced in pointing out our weaknesses. It’s easy to forget how beautiful and wise we are. Affirmations are an amazingly powerful tool to practice softening those critical voices - simple and powerful statements that can transform the way we think and feel about ourselves and our experiences.

Affirmations allow us to reclaim ownership of our bodies and our experiences, honoring the complexities that make us who we are. Whether we need support to feel more empowered, reclaim our menstrual cycle, in pregnancy and birth, or experiencing a loss, affirmations can serve as a reminder of our strength, resilience, and inherent worth.


So how can you incorporate affirmations into your life? There’s so many ways! Start by choosing, or creating, a few affirmations that feel helpful and repeat them to yourself regularly. You can say them out loud to yourself, write them down and decorate your space with them, or simply think them silently as you wake up or fall asleep.



Here are a few affirmations from my You Are Magic deck to get you started:

  • I am a catalyst for goodness and love.

  • I surrender to the lessons here for me in this season of life.

  • I am connected to the divinity in me.

  • I have all I need and more is coming.

  • I take care of my inner child and make my future self proud.

As you take a moment each day to connect with yourself, holding yourself with words of love and compassion, notice any shifts that may happen.
