I’m marilyn

I currently reside in Utah, and have spent many years traveling and living around the world. I truly feel like the whole world is my home.

I am always exploring new mediums and methods, but I currently love tattooing, oil pastels, and paint.

I grew up with extremely painful periods, and this set me on a path to advocate for women and girls. So much of what I make is focused on empowering and advocating for people who are pregnant, menstruating, or new mothers. Giving birth and raising my own son has deepened my passion for it all. I worked in a birth center and taught prenatal yoga for years, and studied gender studies in university.

I love the desert, spending time outside, playing music with friends and family, tea, dance, and a snacking on the porch.

  • Nope. I have always created art as a more personal creative expression, I never really planned on it being my full time career. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2014, studied Anthropology & Women’s and Gender Studies in University, then worked at a local Birth Center. Now I get to combine all my passions in one place here at Studio Marilyn! Mindfulness, equality, feminism, birth, and art… can’t get much better than that!
